Fire Chief Anthony Riehl will retire Friday September 26, after 25 years of service to our community.

The City of Hackensack is launching a plan focused on improving bicycle safety and infrastructure throughout the city. The initiative involves assessing the city’s needs for bike lanes, shared roads, bike parking, and other facilities, while also identifying barriers and gaps in the current roadway network for bicyclists. Using this analysis, the project will outline an action plan designed to enhance bicycling safety, convenience, and accessibility for all members of the community.

The Police Department is competing in a statewide contest to win a fully outfitted Ford Bronco. Departments from all over New Jersey are participating, and the winner will be determined by which department’s video receives the most likes on Instagram.

The City of Hackensack, in partnership with NJ Clean Communities and Hamline University, is proud to present the “Adopt-A-Drain” program for their residents.

The City of Hackensack is now on Recycle Coach, a mobile and web app aimed at improving recycling education and participation.
