Hackensack is on the Rise

Hackensack is currently undergoing its most significant transformation in decades. Over the next several years, Hackensack will see an increase of approximately 4,000 residential units, thousands of additional retail square footage, new parks, performing art spaces and open-air plazas. Main Street has been restored to its two-way configuration, complete with new sidewalks, planter boxes, hundreds of new trees, street furniture and decorative lighting.

The city is also repairing and replacing large portions of its sewer infrastructure, reducing flooding events and ensuring sufficient capacity for decades to come. Municipal parking lots have been renovated and new, user-friendly parking meters installed. Many miles of roads have been resurfaced, with new paving projects happening all the time.

Please keep an eye on this page to see what more the city will be doing over the next several months and years. We welcome your feedback and suggestions.
