The duties of the Veterans’ Advisory Board shall be to:

• Serve as an ad hoc advisory board to the City Council for the purposes of keeping the City Council informed of developments regarding veterans, including any new state or federal laws that would impact veterans in the City;
• Recommend and arrange appropriate ceremonies honoring veterans on holidays and otherwise;
• Prepare such advisory reports and perform such other duties as may from time to time be requested by the Mayor and Council concerning City services, programs and policies which are the subject of consideration or evaluation by the City Council;
• Respond to any ordinances introduced by the City Council that may have an impact upon veterans; and
• Entertain public proposals and suggestions and articulate the same to the Mayor and Council.
