City of Hackensack Honors Ruth Bauer Neustadter with Naming of HACPAC Gallery

The City of Hackensack has officially designated the art gallery at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC) as the Ruth Bauer Neustadter Gallery, in recognition of Neustadter’s invaluable contributions to the city’s cultural arts community. The ordinance, adopted by the Mayor and City Council at their most recent City Council meeting on February 11, ensures that her legacy will be remembered for generations to come.

“Ruth Bauer Neustadter has played a vital role in making Hackensack a hub for the arts through her passion, creativity, and dedication, and it is only fitting that we honor her contributions in this way. The Ruth Bauer Neustadter Gallery will continue to inspire and celebrate artistic expression for years to come,” said Hackensack Mayor John Labrose.

A celebrated artist, poet, teacher, dancer, and choreographer, Ruth Bauer Neustadter was instrumental in the creation of the HACPAC art gallery in 2016, and has dedicated years to curating exhibitions and organizing events that showcased the work of both local and professional artists. Her unwavering commitment to the arts has fostered a thriving artistic community in Hackensack and throughout Bergen County.

The Hackensack Performing Arts Center, located at 102 State Street, has become a premier destination for arts and culture in the region. The newly named Ruth Bauer Neustadter Gallery will continue to serve as a space where artists of all backgrounds can share their work and enrich the community through creativity.

A formal dedication ceremony in the spring will be announced in the coming weeks.
