City of Hackensack Congratulates Chief Michael Antista on FBI National Academy Graduation

The City of Hackensack proudly announces that Chief of Police Michael Antista has graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy, Session 296, in Quantico, Virginia. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Chief Antista’s distinguished law enforcement career.

Internationally recognized for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy provides 11 weeks of advanced training in communication, leadership, and fitness. Attendance is reserved for law enforcement professionals with proven records of service and leadership. On average, participants have 21 years of experience and often return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Session 296 included 254 law enforcement officers representing 47 states, the District of Columbia, 24 international agencies, four military organizations, and two federal civilian agencies.

Chief Antista’s successful completion of this program underscores his commitment to professional development and his dedication to serving Hackensack with integrity and excellence. His achievement strengthens the department’s leadership and enhances its ability to implement best practices in public safety.

“We are incredibly proud to recognize Chief Antista’s outstanding accomplishment,” said Thomas Freeman, City Manager. “His proven expertise and collaborative leadership are instrumental in ensuring Hackensack remains a strong and safe community for all our residents.”

“Chief Antista’s graduation from the prestigious FBI National Academy ensures our neighborhoods are protected by world-class leadership and modern policing strategies,” Mayor Caseen Gaines said. “The City Council and I congratulate the Chief on this achievement, which directly reinforces our commitment to the safety and well-being to everyone in Hackensack.”

Chief Antista expressed gratitude for the opportunity to attend the 296th session of the National Academy, noting that this marks the first time in 82 years that a Hackensack Police Department member has been selected for this training. He looks forward to applying new ideas and skills to advance the department and extended appreciation to his family, colleagues, commanders, and the City of Hackensack for their support throughout the 11-week program.
