Lieutenant Anthony DiPersia is a seasoned police officer with a wealth of experience in law enforcement. With 23 years of dedicated service, he has risen through the ranks to the position of Lieutenant. Throughout his career, Lt. DiPersia has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep commitment to the community.
Having started as a patrol officer, Lt. DiPersia quickly stood out with his ability to connect with members of the community. His exceptional communication skills have enabled him to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the public, enhancing trust and cooperation.
Lt. DiPersia is currently the commander of the Hackensack Police Department’s School Threat Assessment and Crime Prevention Bureau. Throughout his career, he has held assignments in Patrol, Detectives, Bureau of Criminal Identification, Evidence, Internal Affairs, served as the Administrative Aid to the Officer in Charge and commanded the Training Bureau.
Lieutenant DiPersia is currently responsible for leading and managing a team of Sergeants, Detectives, and Class III Special Police Officers. His responsibilities include overseeing investigations of juvenile delinquency and criminal offenses committed by minors in the city’s schools. The bureau works closely with social workers, and other state agencies responsible for the overall supervision of persons who enter the juvenile justice system. Additionally, the Bureau is responsible for community outreach and social media. Lieutenant Anthony DiPersia works closely with the Superintendent of Schools, School Safety Specialist, and the seven school principals.
Lt. DiPersia earned his Bachelor of Science from Ramapo College of New Jersey majoring in pre-law. He is also a graduate of the Certified Public Manager program at Rutgers University and a New Jersey Police Training Commission certified School Resource Officer.
Lt. DiPersia is married to his wife Lauren and they have two children, Sadie and Giovanni. In his spare time, he volunteers as an assistant coach for the North Jersey Navigators, an adaptive sports team.
