Police Seize Heroin, Meth, and Cocaine in Major Drug Bust; One Arrested

The Hackensack Police Department announces the arrest of 42-year-old JHOAN FERREIRA-DIAZ (DOB: 6/09/82,) of Hackensack, NJ, on multiple drug offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Hackensack Police Department Crime Suppression Bureau, under the direction of Chief Michael Antista.

On April 3, 2025, a Superior Court ordered search warrant was executed in an apartment within the jurisdiction of Hackensack, as a result of an investigation conducted by Det. Michael Reo and the Crime Suppression Bureau, under the leadership of D/Lt. John Dalton. The search warrant yielded more than five ounces of heroin individually packaged for street level narcotic sales, more than seven ounces of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia used in the manufacturing and distribution of the narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, JHOAN FERREIRA-DIAZ was charged with narcotics distribution of more than five ounces of heroin/2C:35-5A(1) (first degree crime,) narcotics distribution of more than five ounces of crystal methamphetamine/2C:35-5A(1) (first degree crime.) possession of heroin with intent to distribute it within 500 feet of a park 2C:35-7.1A (second degree crime,) possession of crystal methamphetamine with intent to distribute it within 500 feet of a park/2C:35-7.1A (second degree crime,) and multiple other drug charges, JHOAN FERREIRA-DIAZ was processed and transported to the Bergen County Jail on a Complaint Warrant pending his initial appearance at Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

These charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
