Man Charged with Sexual Assault

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 23-year-old CHRISTOPHER RODRIGUEZ-PEREZ of Hackensack, NJ on a charge of sexual assault. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Antista.


On Monday, April 6, 2026, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Hackensack Police Department, and the New York City Police Department revealed that CHRISTOPHER RODRIGUEZ-PEREZ sexually assaulted a female victim in a Hackensack, NJ residence on April 6, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, April 10, 2026, CHRISTOPHER RODRIGUEZPEREZ was arrested in Hackensack, NJ and charged with second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A.2C:14-2c(4). RODRIGUEZ-PEREZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, made a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court on April 11, and was released pending further court action.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the Hackensack Police Department and NYPD for their assistance in this investigation.
