Man Arrested with Handgun

The Hackensack Police Department announces the arrest of Joseph Frankowski (DOB: 04/04/1984, unemployed), a resident of Hackensack, New Jersey, on several criminal charges following a threat investigation conducted by the Patrol Bureau.

On May 4, 2025, Officers Andres Lopez, Massimo Gallorini, Anzour Marza, and Anthony Mattalian responded to a food establishment on Essex Street for a report of a male party possibly armed with a handgun. Upon making contact with the individual, he was found to be in possession of an unloaded Ruger handgun.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph Frankowski was placed under arrest and charged with multiple weapons possession offenses, terroristic threats, and certain persons not to possess weapons.

These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
