Health Department Employees Wear Red

Employees of the Hackensack Health Department proudly wore red earlier this month to support National Wear Red Day, raising awareness about cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death among women.

Observed on the first Friday of February, National Wear Red Day is part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. This year’s event took place on February 7, 2025, with participation from various sectors, including our health department team.

By wearing red, the Hackensack Health Department aimed to draw attention to heart health issues and encourage community engagement. Although the official day has passed, the department continues to encourage residents to wear red and raise awareness throughout February, which is American Heart Month.

The Hackensack Health Department extends its gratitude to all employees and community members who participated. Together, we can make a significant impact in the awareness and fight against cardiovascular disease amongst women.

For more information on heart health and how you can get involved, visit GoRedforWomen.org or contact the Hackensack Health Department.
