Under direction, patrols designated areas and issues summonses for motor vehicles to enforce state, county, or municipal statutes, resolutions, and ordinances for regulations related to the parking of motor vehicles within the municipality; does related work as required. Ability to check the condition of parking meters and informs those responsible for the repair of meters or any malfunctions. Hang and remove various temporary no parking signs in accordance with scheduled events, construction projects, and city planning requirements. Interact professionally and courteously with the public, addressing inquiries and providing guidance on parking regulations. Capable of walking or standing for extended periods of time in all types of weather. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. Valid NJ Driver’s License required. Must be able to work weekends. Starting salary $17/hour. This is a full-time, contractual position which includes health benefits, PTO, and enrollment in the State Pension Plan upon permanent appointment.
