NOTICE TO BIDDERS
City of Hackensack
Sealed bids for Elevator Maintenance for The City of Hackensack will be received at the City Clerk’s office at Hackensack City Hall, 65 Central Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey, 07601, until 10:00AM prevailing time on Thursday, January 9, 2014, which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Specifications for the above may be obtained at the Office of the City Clerk, 65 Central Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey between the hours of 9:00AM and 4:00PM, daily, except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. The City of Hackensack WILL NOT mail bid specifications. All specifications shall be obtained in person. Proposals shall be in a sealed envelope and the envelope shall have written on it, plainly, the contract to which it refers. Copy of Contractors registration Certificate or a copy of application of such Certificate must be presented with submitted bid, if not, bid will be rejected.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended.
Bidder must have a Business Registration Certificate or bid will be rejected.
Bidder must include in bid package: 1) Certificate of Employee Information Report, 2) Letter of Federal Approval, or 3) Complete Form AA 302. The City of Hackensack requires Public Works contractors and subcontractors to comply with recent legislation, PL 1999, C238 “The Public Works Contactor Registration Act”, by submitting their Certificate (or their application of said Certificate, if a Certificate has not yet been issued); the City of Hackensack requires a copy of the contractor’s application for certificate.
The City of Hackensack reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the one that is in its judgment, will be in the best interest of the City of Hackensack.
A bid security in the form of a bid bond, or certified check or cashier’s check in the sum of 10 percent (10%) of the total price bid, or $ 20,000.00, which ever is the lesser, is required of all bidders. Such bid guarantee shall be refunded to all but the three apart lowest responsible bidders and will be returned, unless otherwise requested by the bidder, within 10 days after the opening of the bids. Within 3 days after the awarding and signing of the contract and the approval of the contractor’s performance and payment bond, the bid security of the remaining unsuccessful bidders will be returned.
