...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT MONDAY
NIGHT...

* LOCATIONS...URBAN AREAS OF METROPOLITAN NEW JERSEY INCLUDING
  EASTERN UNION...EASTERN ESSEX...EASTERN BERGEN AND HUDSON
  COUNTIES.

* HAZARDS...HEAT.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...UP TO 102 DUE TO TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER
  90S AND DEW POINT TEMPERATURES AROUND 70.

* TIMING...HIGHEST HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL OCCUR DURING THE
  AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS.

* IMPACTS...INITIAL IMPACTS IF NO PROTECTIVE ACTION IS TAKEN...
  FATIGUE. SUNSTROKE...MUSCLE CRAMPS...AND/OR HEAT EXHAUSTION IS
  POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY...CALL 9 1 1.

A HEAT ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN THE COMBINATION OF HEAT AND
HUMIDITY IS EXPECTED TO MAKE IT FEEL LIKE 100 TO 104 FOR AT LEAST
TWO CONSECUTIVE HOURS. TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR
SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS
ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND
SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT
AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF
WATER.
