12/24/2010 - Notices for Solicitation: Auditor and Elevator Maintenance


Notice is hereby given that sealed qualifications for professional services not subject to bidding pursuant to N.J.S.A.40A:11-5, will be received by the Clerk of the City of Hackensack. The proposals must be submitted to the City Clerk at the Municipal Building, 65 Central Avenue. Hackensack, N.J. 07601 and Joseph C. Zisa, Esq., City Attorney, 77 Hudson Street, Hackensack, New Jersey 07601, on or before January 3, 2011, 12:00 p.m. Proposals for the following professional service will be accepted:

1. Auditor with experience in municipal finance to perform auditing services for the year ending December 31, 2011.

Each submission to be considered shall comport to the criteria set forth herein:

(a) The applicant shall submit a resume.

(b) The applicant shall submit a statement of qualifications.

The Municipal appointing authority shall thereafter publicly select the professional for the position so advertised which shall thereafter be confirmed or approved as required by law or Ordinance.



Sealed bids for furnishing and supplying to The City of Hackensack Department of Public Works, a proposal to contract for ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE FOR THE CITY OF HACKENSACK, will be received at the City Clerk’s office at Hackensack City Hall, 65 Central Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey, 07601, until 10:30AM prevailing time on THURSDAY January 13th, 2011, which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Specifications for the above may be obtained at the Office of the City Clerk, 65 Central Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey between the hours of 9:00AM and 4:00PM, daily, except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. The City of Hackensack WILL NOT mail bid specifications. All specifications shall be obtained in person.

Proposals shall be in a sealed envelope and the envelope shall have written on it, plainly, the contract to which it refers.

Bidders are required to comply with requirements of P.L. 1975, c 127. Copy of Contractors registration Certificate or a copy of application of such Certificate must be presented with submitted bid, if not, bid will be rejected.

Bidder must have a Business Registration Certificate or bid will be rejected.

Bidder must include in bid package: 1) Certificate of Employee Information Report, 2) Letter of Federal Approval, or 3) Complete Form AA 302.
The City of Hackensack requires Public Works contractors and subcontractors to comply with recent legislation, PL 1999, C238 “The Public Works Contactor Registration Act”, by submitting their Certificate (or their application f said Certificate, if a Certificate has not yet been issued), the City of Hackensack requires a copy of the contractor’s application for certificate.

The City of Hackensack reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the one that is in its judgment, will be in the best interest of the City of Hackensack.

A bid security in the form of a bid bond, or certified check or cashier’s check in the sum of 10 percent (10%) of the total price bid, or $ 20,000.00, which ever is the lesser, is required of all bidders. Such bid guarantee shall be refunded to all but the three apart lowest responsible bidders and will be returned, unless otherwise requested by the bidder, within 10 days after the opening of the bids. Within 3 days after the awarding and signing of the contract and the approval of the contractor’s performance and payment bond, the bid security of the remaining unsuccessful bidders will be returned.
