GUSTS AND HEAVY RAIN THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING...

AT 1030 AM...RADAR WAS TRACKING SEVERAL LINES OF SHOWERS AND
EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS MOVING RAPIDLY NORTHEAST TOWARD THE TRI-
STATE AREA. LATE THIS MORNING...ONE LINE OFF THE COAST OF NEW
JERSEY WILL MOVE INTO EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST
CONNECTICUT...WHILE A SECOND LINE MOVES INTO THE NEW YORK CITY
METROPOLITAN AREA AND THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY.

LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING...A THIRD AND STRONGER
LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM EASTERN
PENNSYLVANIA SOUTH INTO THE DELMARVA REGION WILL MOVE INTO THE
AREA. BASED ON ITS CURRENT MOTION...THIS THIRD LINE SHOULD IMPACT
NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...NEW YORK CITY...THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND
WESTERN LONG ISLAND FROM ABOUT 2 TO 4 PM...SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT
AND CENTRAL LONG ISLAND FROM ABOUT 4 TO 6 PM...AND EASTERN LONG
ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT FROM ABOUT 6 TO 8 PM.
LOCALLY STRONG WIND GUSTS AND BRIEF DOWNPOURS OF UP TO AN INCH
ARE POSSIBLE.

PEOPLE IN THE TRI-STATE AREA SHOULD KEEP AN EYE TO THE SKY LATER
