This e-mail blast program has been established to reach out to over 550 of our members and contacts. This monthly e-mail blast takes the opportunity to inform you of the Hackensack Main Street Business Alliance's accomplishments and goals.

  • Congratulations to our Board Members. City Councilwoman Karen Sasso is being honored with the 11th annual Everyday Hero Award on February 28, 2009 at the Fiesta in Wood-Ridge, NJ. Jerry and Diane Some are being honored with the Distinguished Citizen Award by the Hackensack Education Foundation on March 12, 2009 at The Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ. Main Street Alliance Executive Director, Leo Pflieger, participated in the "Go To Jail" fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy and raised over $1,000. 
  • Congratulations! The 2008 Awards in Excellence Committee has selected the Johnson Public Library as Honorable Mention for this year's Downtown Excellence Award. This application was submitted by the Main Street Business Alliance on behalf of the Johnson Public Library for their renovations to the Library Façade and Courtyard.
  • Main Street Welcomes Senator Menendez. The Main Street Business Alliance staff and Senator Menendez staff worked together to arrange a recently held press conference. Senator Menendez spoke about the newly signed stimulus package at Java's Brewing on Monday, February 16, 2009. Many local businesses and media attended the event.
  • The Strategic Vision Plan continues to move forward as the Board of Directors saw a PowerPoint Presentation by The Taylor Design Group and has scheduled interview's with Square Foot LLC from Newark, NJ and with Baglivo Strategic Communication's Corp from Sparta, NJ. The Executive Committee expects to spend the next 60 days on the interview process before making a recommendation to the Board of Directors.
  • The 4th Annual Hackensack Street Festival, with the approval of the city, has been moved back to a Saturday and will be held October 3, 2009. The Street Festival will be held the same weekend as the Hackensack Columbus Day Parade which is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2009.
  • Main Street Business Alliance Executive Assistant Retires. After 4 ½ years of dedicated service to the Main Street Business Alliance, Lorraine Klein has decided to retire. The organization wishes health and happiness in her retirement. The office is presently interviewing for a part-time Administrative Assistant, hours are M-W-F from 10:00AM - 5:00PM. Any interested party with MS Office proficiency, typing and phone experience can email a resume to info@uppermain.org or fax to (201) 468-1660.
  • Latino Multi Services at 219 Main Street is welcomed by the Alliance as a new member to the District.
  • The Hackensack Chamber of Commerce is holding the following upcoming events: an Indoor Moonlight Picnic will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 6:00PM-9:00PM at the Moose Lodge, 215 Charles Street, Hackensack, NJ, tickets are $30.00. The Big Event will be held on Friday, April 17, 7:00PM-11:00PM, at the Sky Ballroom, Hilton Hasbrouck Heights, 650 Terrace Ave, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, tickets are $75.00.
