Mobile COVID-19 Testing Site Coming to Hackensack on Wednesday
Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Partnering with City, Bergen County to Offer Testing to Both Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Residents
City officials are announcing that a Mobile COVID-19 Testing Site will be operating in Hackensack on Wednesday, May 13th. The site will offer both saliva testing and antibody testing to symptomatic and asymptomatic residents. Provided through a partnership between the City of Hackensack, County of Bergen and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, the test center will be located in the parking lot of the Hackensack Recreation Center, 116 Holt Street. The center will open for first responders only from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before opening to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“Now that we are beginning to see real signs of progress both in Hackensack and throughout the area with the number of new positive cases declining, expanding testing to more residents is the next important step in containing COVID-19,” said Mayor John Labrosse. “I would like to thank Bergen County government and Bergen New Bridge for offering this important service to Hackensack and I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to get tested.”
COVID-19 testing and antibody testing are covered by all private insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid with no out of pocket costs. Residents must bring their identification, proof of Bergen County residency and their insurance card to be tested.
