Seven Police Officers Promoted to Sgt. at Tuesday's Council Meeting


At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting seven Hackensack police officers were promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Mayor John Labrosse swore in Sergeants Sean Briggs, Matthew Swetits, Luis Dominguez, John Knapp, Mark DelCarpio, John Dalton, and Franklin Bay, with their families on hand.

 

"These promotions are very well deserved and the newSergeants have demonstrated great professionalism during their time with the Hackensack Police Department. They have the complete faith of myself and my fellow Council members,” said Mayor John Labrosse. “I am confident that they will be putting their community and its residents first in everything they do." 

 

"These new Sergeants are a huge asset to the department. They will be steering the department in the right direction moving forward. I want to congratulate them for their previous hard work that qualified them to receive this promotion,” said Captain Peter Busciglio. “I would also like to thank Mayor Labrosse,the Council and the City Manager for their continued support and making these necessary promotions possible.

 

Sgt. Briggs and Sgt. Bay are the sons of Hackensack firemen, and Sgt. Dalton’s brother, Jimmy, is a retired Hackensack Police Officer.  

 

Many members of the Hackensack Police Department were on hand to support and congratulate their new Sergeants. The promotion ceremony took place at the beginning of the 8:00pm Council meeting Tuesday night.
