On Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 7:00 PM you are invited to join Boz and the Bard for the very special premiere of a new workshop series. Original scripts being developed for the theatre benefit greatly from a staged reading. It is the opportunity for the writer to hear the words of the characters spoken by actors, and to get a response from the audience. This process is very valuable for a writer as each new draft of a play unfolds. In our "Play with a Play" series you will have the opportunity to see and hear brand new scripts by various writers. But the twist is, you get to play with the play. You will have the opportunity to join in and be a part of the show.
Any audience member who would like to will get a chance to take a script in hand and take to the stage. Whether you are an experienced actor or have never set foot in front of the footlights, you are welcome to participate. An experienced director will guide you through the process, and you'll have the chance to work with excellent actors. (Of course, those of you who are more comfortable staying in your seat in the audience are sure to have a great time, too, as you sit back and watch an original story unfold before you. You'll also get a unique look at the rehearsal/directorial process at the same time.)
Our first "Play with a Play" workshop will take place at the Hackensack Cultural Arts Center, 39 Broadway, Hackensack, NJ on Saturday March 12, 2005 at 7:00 PM. Admission is $10 ($7 for students/seniors) at the door.
