New Services at the Johnson Public Library in Hackensack
The Johnson Public Library is now wireless! You can access the internet with a wi-fi capable laptop from anywhere on the main floor. Additional public access internet computers have been added to the Reference Area. Other new additions to the library include:
ESL and Citizenship media collection. We have CDs, DVDs, and Videos to learn English for speakers of a variety of languages, as well as Citizenship DVDs and videos.
You can now make an appointment to use our new public internet computer for up to two hours for FAFSA forms, Immigration forms, IRS forms, Workforce New Jersey, Unemployment insurance, certain job applications, and social security forms. To make an appointment, call 201-343-4781.
The Summer Reading Club, Get a Clue@Your Library, now offers reading incentives in the form of small gifts and coupons in addition to the usual crafts, animal programs, storytimes, raffles, parties, and other activities that the children enjoy as part of the reading club.
Our teen book discussion groups have added a separate group for high school students this summer. Students can enjoy snacks, play games, make new friends, and have fun at the library while reading and talking about some of the best and newest Young Adult books. Johnson Public Library continues to offer a wide variety of books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and downloadable audio. Ask at the Reference Desk for help in finding materials or using the new services.
Upcoming free programs for adults this fall, will include Salsa Dancing, First-Time Home Buyers Workshop, Playwriting, and Understanding Memory Loss (a program in English and Spanish). Metered parking is available around the library (free after 6 p.m.) and also in the metered lot on Camden and State Street and the free lot on Berry and State Street (entrance on Berry).
