Your Mail-In Ballots have been mailed out to all active registered voters as of September 25, 2020. They should reach your mailbox within the next week. Please return them as soon as possible. If you have not received your ballot by October 3, 2020, please contact Bergen County Elections Division at 201-336-7020 for a duplicate.
VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR GENERAL ELECTION
Bergen County Superintendent of Elections Patricia DiCostanzo issued a notice that Tuesday, October 13, 2020 is the last day for residents to register to vote for the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election in the State of New Jersey. In order to be eligible to vote, a person must be an American Citizen, be 18 years old on or before November 3, 2020, and be a resident of New Jersey and Bergen County.
Bergen County residents may register to vote at the Office of the Superintendent of Elections, located at One Bergen County Plaza, Room 380, in Hackensack. In order to meet the needs of residents, this office will be open from 9:00AM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. People may also register at their local municipal clerk’s office, hours vary.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic and Executive Order No. 177, ALL REGISTERED VOTERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE A VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT for the November 3, 2020 General Election. You may return your postage paid ballot via USPS or bring to one of 18 secured Vote by Mail Drop Boxes located throughout the County. You may contact the Board of Elections at 201-336-6230 or the Board of Elections website to locate a Drop Box near you.
If you have a disability and need an accessible ballot, please contact (201) 336-7020 or you may go to your assigned polling place, which will provide access to an in-person accessible voting device on General Election Day. Should you choose not to vote on a Mail-In Ballot and show up to one of the limited number of Polling Places on Election Day, in you town only Provisional Paper Ballots will be available to cast your vote. The ADA compliant Voting Machine is only for voters who have a disability. Voters may also return their Vote by Mail in person to their consolidated polling place in their municipality. Voters will receive a post card notice prior to the election from the Bergen County Clerk which will indicate their consolidated polling place
Superintendent DiCostanzo would like voters, already registered in Bergen County, to be aware of the procedures regarding late address changes within county. If a voter has moved from one election district to another in the SAME town or has moved to another town in Bergen before November 3, 2020, please notify this office as soon as possible so that a Mail-In Ballot can be sent to you at your current address. The Bergen County Superintendent of Elections’ office is responsible for Voter Registration and all associated concerns, Issuing Voter Acknowledgement Cards, Maintaining Custody of Voting Machines and Poll Books, as well as other duties relating to the enforcement of elections laws as per NJSA Title 19.
On Tuesday, November 3rd, voters will cast ballots for President of the United States, US Senate, Congress, Freeholders, and local candidates. It is up to each and every American Citizen to exercise their right to vote.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOTERS TO SET UP THEIR ACCOUNT
FOR THE PUBLIC ACCESS LINK ON THE STATE WEBSITE
1. Go to njelections.org (Department of State New Jersey Division of Elections)
2. Click on Am I Registered?
3. Click on My Voter Information above Voter Search screen. This will bring you to the Public Access Sign In page. Click on Sign Up For Public Access underneath the Sign In button.
4. Voter enters first name, last name, county and date of birth. Where it says Driver's License#, click on arrow and change to Voter ID.
5. Under Account Information, the Public Access ID# is again their Voter ID#. The voter completes the rest of this section and clicks Sign Up.
6. After completing the profile the screen goes back to the Public Access Sign In screen. The username is their Voter ID# and then whatever password they used for the sign up.
