COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER

The Community Resource Center, which is located on the first floor at 230 Central Ave., was officially opened last August. This facility, which was developed through a cooperative effort between the City of Hackensack, the Hackensack Housing Authority and the Hackensack Police Department, will be staffed by a police officer every day of the week, from 2:00 PM until 2:00 AM. The purpose of this officer, as well as the program as a whole, is to assist the community. The officer assigned here is a member of the Community Policing Unit, which works closely with our residents on a regular basis. Members of this unit also patrol this area on foot, maximizing contact with residents, resulting in a cooperative police/citizen partnership.
