PERSONNEL DIRECTOR- CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County. Full Time Position. 35 hours/week.

Serves as the chief human resource administrator and is responsible for the overall human function in the municipality.  Directs and supervises activities of personnel units involved in maintaining liaison between the municipality and the NJ Department of Personnel in matters of personnel administration; coordinates personnel programs, policies, and practices for the employees; does other related duties. Must possess a Bachelor's Degree or may substitute experience with one year of experience being equal to 30 semester hours. Requires thorough knowledge of New Jersey Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations and experience with CAMPS. Five (5) years of supervisory personnel experience preferred. Salary D.O.Q. MANAGER MOTORS- CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County. Full Time Position.

Manages and oversees the maintenance and repair work on automobiles, trucks, tractors, mowers, motorized equipment or machinery.  Performs the more complex and difficult repair work needed on all motorized equipment in the fleet.  Appointees are required to have 3 years supervisory experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of various types of motorized vehicles, equipment and/or machinery. PROJECT ENGINEER MAINTENANCE- CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County. Full Time Position.

Under direction, oversees programs and staff operations for the maintenance and construction of current City projects.  Must possess knowledge of plans and schedules, pavement, bridge, landscape, and drainage maintenance as well as the maintenance of non-electrical traffic control devices, signs and traffic lane striping.  Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in civil or mechanical engineering & possess a valid professional engineer’s license.  4 years’ experience involving highway/street construction preferred.  Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in NJ. SUPERVISOR OF GARAGE SERVICES- CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County. Full Time Position.

Under direction, inspects automobiles, trucks, tractors and other vehicles and motorized equipment.  Determines extent and types of servicing and repairs required for City vehicles.  Assigns employees daily tasks and servicing/ maintenance duties.  Must have 1 year of training in automotive technology from an accredited community college, vocational college, or vocational school.  CDL Preferred. LABORER I- CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County. Full Time Postion.

(DPW ~ Street Dept. / Sewer Dept. / Parks Dept./ Maintenance Dept. / Tree Dept.)

Under supervision, performs various types of manual and unskilled laboring work, and may drive a truck in connection with laboring work on occasion; does other related duties as required.   Must be able to load, lift and move equipment and supplies.  Cut grass, trim hedges, snow removal , cold patching/street repair work. Operation of construction and maintenance equipment, sewer repair, building maintenance, & routine repairs.  Additional responsibilities will be discussed upon interview/hiring process.  Appointees are required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey. ASSISTANT ZONING OFFICER - CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County.

Full Time (Building Dept.) Salary Range: DOQ.  Under the direction of the Zoning Officer, examines the working plans of proposed buildings for their compliance with state, county, and local zoning laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.  Consults with architects/owners on compliance problems.  Must have the ability to conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with zoning regulations/rules and initiates enforcement actions against violators.  Two years’ experience in the preparation and revision of building construction plans and specs or in the full time inspection and enforcement of zoning and/or building construction laws and regulations.   Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in NJ.  Please email resume to Simeon N. MECHANIC DIESEL – HACKENSACK CITY, Bergen County **NIGHT SHIFT (4pm to Midnight) & DAYTIME SHIFT (8pm – 4pm) - Salary Range: $40,000 - $56,100- must possess a NJ valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class “A”. Must have practical shop, computer diagnostic experience and be knowledgeable in diesel engines. Experience in repairing Police Vehicles, Light to Heavy Duty Trucks, Construction Equipment, Landscaping Equipment, & Snow Removal Equipment. Diagnoses trouble, disassembles engines, and examines parts for defects and excessive wear. Reconditions and replaces parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings, and using engine lathes, boring machines, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments. Successful completion of one (1) year of training in automotive technology at an accredited community college or vocational school. Two (2) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines. Applicants who do not possess the required year of formal training may substitute one (1) additional year of experience. Possession of a certificate as a diesel mechanic issued by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence may be substituted for one (1) year of formal training.  Salary D.O.Q. ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR- HACKENSACK CITY, Bergen County. FULL TIME (40 hrs. per week) / PART TIME (20 hrs. per week) positions availableUnder direction, reviews plans and performs electrical inspection work to enforce the State Uniform Construction Code, the electrical subcode, and regulations adopted pursuant to the Uniform Construction Code Act; does other related work.  Must be able to inspect and evaluate electrical work on construction projects.  Must be able to inspect electrical installations in existing buildings for conformance with the minimum safety standards incorporated in the regulations of the Uniform Code and relevant laws within the jurisdiction.  Prepare reports and maintain records and files.  Appointee will  be required to possess a valid driver’s license in the State of New Jersey; must have a valid license as an Electrical Inspector of the appropriate level; HHS license preferred.
